"The first leg of our project went very well. We enjoyed spending time at one of the assisted living homes with 7 of the Widows and Widowers there. This leg of our project was planned with the highschool youth group in our church. We had 6 youth volunteers and 2 adults. Our project is to serve widows and widowers who are experiencing end of life issues/needs. We have 5 assisted living homes that are connected to our church and communion is brought to them every week. We have learned that they have been asking the church for more frequent visits as they do not have regular family support or companionship. They are homebound due to medical and end of life needs. Therefore we are going to their assisted living homes to provide life enrichment experiences."
